If you haven’t seen it yet, I posted A few of my favorite things video to YouTube this week, sharing some of my current faves including new pâtisserie pipes from Maddie Cakes (yours truly), Calzuro clogs, Typology skincare, and more! I quickly realized I had more to share, some I’d been meaning to talk about for quite some time. So here is a Part II… Substack style!
1. JUJUBE TEA
I found this jujube tea at 99 Ranch and use it around the time of my period to help soothe any discomfort. It’s delicious, subtly sweet, and apparently red dates are amazing for reducing fatigue and other symptoms during that time of the month.
2. NOCCIOLATA (vegan nutella)
Growing up in Italy and Germany I LOVED Nutella as a kid! It’s been about ten years since I went vegan so I haven’t had Nutella in a looong time. Lucky for me I found this jar of Nocciolata at Eataly in LA. If I remember correctly it was around $4/$5. A nostalgic treat!!! ✨🌰🍫
3. HALLE BURNS ON YOUTUBE
My YouTube feed recently graced me with this video by Halle Burns - Call Me Vegan Show Ep. 4. I’d seen her short-form content pop up in my feed before, but I more recently discovered she also makes long-form content (yay!). This series of hers got me so excited about being on YouTube again. I love her editing, her sense of humor, and I love her vegan recipes!!! If you’ve never seen her videos before you might think she’s trolling… But when you dig a little deeper you find that she’s actually just a genius (I have no idea how she comes up with her recipes). Her recipes are simple, she uses ingredients you probably already have in your pantry, and somehow still manages to make something totally original and exciting. Thank you, Halle Burns, for making veganism fun again!
5. YOUTUBE PREMIUM
Speaking of YouTube, I got a 6-month free trial of YouTube Premium and I cannot say enough good things about it. You can download videos, add videos to a queue that you can watch throughout the day, and even lock your screen while a video plays so it can be on in the background. It also includes YouTube Music, which I really didn’t get a chance to explore. For someone like me who can’t stand being on their phone, can’t stand ads, or staring at a screen…. This really is the way to go! I think it’s 13.99 a month??? And honestly… I think it’s worth it if you have the disposable income!
4. RITUAL PROTEIN POWDER
This stuff is DELICIOUS. Since I’ve started working out more I have a protein shake after each workout and it’s such a treat to look forward to! You can add it to smoothies, chia pudding, desserts, etc. I’ve tried other vegan protein powders and flavors but this one is still my number one! 🏆
I didn’t realize this was going to be such a food-heavy part ii! I hope you’ve enjoyed these extra favorites of mine. Be sure to check out part i on YouTube if you haven’t yet, and if you’d like to read about some more of my favorite things check out THIS POST! See you real soon!
I've been on YT Premium since 2020 and whenever it expires and I'm served with an ad, it's UNBEARABLE!
I paid $100 annually for YouTube Premium when they started offering it five years ago. It has increased to $139/year. I think it’s totally worth it!
